Join us for a hunting expedition into the darkest, most remote areas of your restaurants, kitchens, freezers, walk-ins, inventories and storage facilities as we hunt down ways to cut back on cost and expenses in this department. As with any hunt, the proper attire is addressed as we learn ways to camouflage our way into these areas and seek out the unnoticed, neglected or outright forgotten. Facts, figures and fun add to the excitement of the hunt for a better bottom line.

Every club has at least one type of financial transaction that they struggle with on how to record. Examples of these types of transactions include green supplies, interest rate swap agreements and fees, bank refinancing fees, self-amortizing assessments and bonds and initiation fees. This session discusses how to record these transactions based on the current accounting standards, as well as current club industry practices at 275 other private clubs. Attendees are encouraged to ask about their own financial transactions that their clubs wrestle with.

1. Analyze examples of financial transactions not properly recorded at clubs.
2. Discuss the proper recording of these financial transactions at a private club.
