June
2013 Location: Minneapolis, MN USA

Format:
A four-day conference and three-day exhibition focusing on the latest trends in hospitality technology, products and services.

Audience:
Attendees are primarily technology professionals from hotels, hotel management companies, clubs, resorts and related hospitality properties. Average conference size is over 4,500 people.

Speaker/Topic Selection: The HITEC Advisory Council formulates the education program with help from the HFTP staff. A Topic Suggestions for HITEC concurrent sessions is open year round on the HFTP website. Although it is not customary to have suppliers on the education program, there are some exceptions. For speaker policies and procedures, contact Steven Stout. However, the Topic Suggestions remains open year-round, so if you have an idea for a session at HITEC visit the Topic Suggestion portion of the website.

HITEC Exhibitor Tutorials are 30-minute presentations, conducted by HITEC exhibitors, that provide basic information to help HITEC attendees become more informed buyers. These sessions are promoted to HITEC attendees as being educational in a non-selling environment. HITEC Tutorial Sessions are held during show hours on Tuesday and Wednesdayin classrooms on the exhibit hall floor.

The Exhibitor Tutorial application will be available in April. There are twelve (12) sessions available. More info>

Keynote Speakers ONLY - Speakers Bureaus/Professional Speakers:
HFTP is now accepting submissions for HITEC 2013 Keynote Speakers, If you'd like to be considered for HITEC 2013 Keynote Speaker please provide the following:
  • Speaker’s Biographical Information
  • Topic with session description
  • Video and/or CD of the proposed presentation
  • Fee Structure

**The HFTP Staff and HITEC Advisory Council review speaker ideas from the following areas only: motivation; hospitality technology and travel.The focus of the Keynote Sessions is to provide attendees with information that they can take back and use on the job.

ProLinks Webinars

HFTP solicits education session ideas and presenters for its ProLinks Online Educational Sessions year-round. Submissions are kept on file for consideration for one year, and an HFTP staff member will contact you if your submission is selected. For more information, contact Celina Mendieta.
Time of Year: Bi-Monthly
Location: Online at ProLinks

Format: Live, one-hour sessions using interactive web conferencing technology (Adobe Connect) with PowerPoint presentation, audio from the presenter, polling and live chat from the attendees. All submitted information must be non-proprietary and educational in nature, not sales or product specific.

Audience: Attendees are technology and financial professionals from all disciplines of the hospitality industry.

Speakers/Topic Selection:
Presenters for online educational conferences are from the hospitality industry and are known to be well versed in the selected topic. Topics are selected based on current industry focus. Because HFTP is a non-profit organization, it is important to note that individuals who are selected to present or interview for an online educational conference are responsible for their own expenses and honorariums are not provided.

Presenters must be available to meet with the Director of Member Services via telephone for training and testing prior to the session. Presenters are provided a microphone by HFTP, and presenters must have a compatible system and high-speed internet connection. Scheduling is somewhat flexible and HFTP makes every effort to accommodate the speaker's schedule.

Submitting information does not guarantee you an opportunity to present a ProLinks Online Educational Session.

Recordings are subject to review and may or may not be posted at the discretion of HFTP.

Speakers Bureaus/Professional Speakers: We do not solicit speakers and/or ideas for this event.

European Hospitality Technology Educational Conference (EHTEC)

Time of Year: February, Alternating Years
2014 Location: TBD

Format:
Alternating year, two day event that features combined general sessions and concurrent sessions specific to hospitality technology with exhibits.

Audience:
EHTEC brings together delegates representing the technology sector of hotel companies, clubs, resort properties, casinos and other hospitality-related businesses. Average conference size is 200 people.

Speakers/Topic Selection:
The EHTEC Advisory Council reviews all speaker submissions and formulates the education program with help from the HFTP staff. Suppliers/vendors are not normally utilized as speakers. For speaker recommendations from the vendor community consider suggesting some of your customers as your recommended speakers or at least as co-presenters.

If you wish to submit ideas for general sessions speakers, please forward the following information via regular mail by mid-September:
  • Speaker’s Biographical Information
  • Session topic with session description
  • Video and/or a web link for submitting by e-mail of the proposed presentation
Incomplete information will not be reviewed. If a speaker has authored a book, please submit a copy of the book with the submission. Please note: books, videos and audio cassettes/CDs will not be returned.

Club & Hotel Controllers Conference

Time of Year: June
2012 Location: Baltimore, MD (co-located with HITEC)

Format:
Two full days of club and hotel specific education. Attendees will receive entrance to the HITEC Opening Session, HITEC Welcome Reception and HITEC Exhibits.

Audience:
Attendees are financial professionals from clubs, hotels, resorts and related hospitality properties. Average conference size is 125-150 people.

Speaker/Topic Selection:
The HFTP Education Advisory Council reviews all speaker submissions and determines the education program based on the HFTP members’ needs. Submissions are accepted December 1- 30. Speakers receive a complimentary conference registration. If travel and/hotel expenses are needed, they must be requested in your submission.

    • Include contact information for proposed speaker(s)
    • Attach biography and a colored photo
    • Indicate if presentation is 75 or 90 minutes
    • E-mail submissions to Linnet Baskett, Meetings & Events Manager at Linnet.Baskett@hftp.org by December 30, 2011.

      Format: A three and a half day conference with exhibits.

      Audience:
      Attendees are financial and technology professionals from clubs, hotels, resorts and related hospitality properties. Average conference size is 600+ people.

      Speakers/Topic Selection:
      The HFTP Education Advisory Council reviews all speaker submissions and determines the education program based on the HFTP members’ needs. Submissions are accepted December thru February 28. Speakers are responsible for their travel expenses; however, will receive a complimentary convention registration.
