How to Charter a Chapter

1. Contact the HFTP Office to notify of your intent to charter a new HFTP chapter.
2. Form an organizing committee of five interested individuals. The HFTP Office can assist you with finding interested individuals in your area.
3. Complete the Pre-Charter Agreement.
4. Once the Pre-Charter Agreement is complete, HFTP Global will notify the membership of the intent to charter a new chapter.
5. HFTP Global will send potential members a letter of introduction on behalf of the new chapter.
6. The organizing committee must hold an organizational meeting within 30 days of the execution of the Pre-Charter Agreement. HFTP Global will assist with the meeting.
7. Following the meeting, the new chapter must have 15 paid members who choose to affiliate with the new chapter.
8. The chapter must send proposed chapter bylaws and signed Chapter Affiliation Agreement to HFTP Global.
9. The chapter must complete its application by submitting a slate of chapter officers to HFTP Global.
10. The HFTP Executive Committee reviews the chapter’s charter application and the chapter will be notified of the Executive Committee’s decision within thirty (30) days after the receipt of all the chartering documentation.

The HFTP Board of Directors determines the chartering policies and procedures for chapters.
