HFTP Emerging Leaders Program

The HFTP Emerging Leader program is a day-and-a-half, in-person meeting focusing on the skills, knowledge, and know-how to lead, influence, and guide individuals, teams or entire organization. The goal is to inspire and prepare emerging leaders with the skills to learn confidently and effectively.
HFTP members are invited to apply to participate in this new program for early to mid career members eager to build leadership skills for their future career path and within their HFTP professional association.
All HFTP members wanting to participate in the HFTP Emerging Leaders program MUST complete an application for review.
Applications / Registration Information
Each participant must complete an application which will then be reviewed. If approved to participate a formal invite will be sent to you with all of the meeting details including hotel reservation information and any pre-program material necessary to make your participation a success.
Please note, completing the meeting registration DOES NOT automatically qualify you to attend. All registrations will be personally reviewed and formal invitation letters will be sent to those who are approved.
Reigstration Steps
- Log into the HFTP website.
- Click on the orange box "MY PROFILE" tab. (Upper right on the webpage)
- Select "Events" from the drop down listing.
- Choose the "Emerging Leaders" picture.
- Choose "Register". (Upper right blue box on the webpage)
Program Application and Registration requires a website login. Please contact Brittany Brewster for assistance with registration.
Travel / Housing
HFTP will provide up to two (2) nights hotel accommodation and up to $500 USD for air travel for each approved program participant. The HFTP provided hotel nights are for Sunday and/or Monday at the JW Marriott Indianapolis Hotel. This is also the hotel for the HFTP Annual Convention on the following days.
HFTP will not cover any other travel expenses to or from the event.

- Discover communication fundamentals.
- Recognize the four negative communication patterns and what to do.
- Learn how to listen so people will talk and talk so people will listen.
- Practice the three critical elements to communicate clearly and concisely.
