How to Apply for the CHAE Certification Program

HFTP finance members and industry professionals can apply to take the CHAE exam with the steps below.

Application Process

  1. Review CHAE Requirements

  2. Fill out the CHAE Application Request Form

  3. Receive application from HFTP

  4. Review CHAE Policies and Procedures and Ethics Policies documents

  5. File your application with required supporting documents and fees

  6. Determine your timeframe for taking your exam

HFTP Members $475 Online*
Non-Members   $675 Online*

*Effective January 1, 2017, the CHAE exam will only be offered online.

New CHAE Exam

HFTP has launched the newly updated Certified Hospitality Accountant Executive (CHAE) certification exam. The new CHAE exam is now available for applicants, and was designed to give applicants the ability to utilize their financial knowledge and skills acquired.

The new CHAE exam now has four sections instead of five as was in the previous exam. The new exam features a more global finance focus, and is based on experiential learning from financial knowledge and skills acquired. Exam questions also focus on financial accounting, managerial accounting, ethics, fraud, internal controls and general questions. Updated features also include an ethics and CHAE policies and procedures section.
