Ian Millar, CHTP was selected as the 2020 Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®) Paragon Award recipient for his unwavering support of the association and substantial contributions to increase knowledge sharing and promote growth in the hospitality industry at large, specifically amongst students and hospitality professionals within Europe. Millar is a senior lecturer of IT at EHL in Lausanne, Switzerland. He has been a member of HFTP for 15 years and served in multiple association leadership positions including as vice-chair of the HITEC Advisory Council and on the HFTP Global Board. Millar will be honored on October 29 during HFTP's Annual Business Meeting, held virtually.

Hilton College Announces Winners of the First-ever Hospitality Hackathon (HC3), Sponsored by HFTP; Challenged Students From Hospitality Programs Across the Globe
This summer, the University of Houston Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management, in partnership with Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®), challenged students in hospitality programs across the globe with the first-time Hilton College Hospitality Hackathon. The competition asked participants to tackle COVID-19 head-on and address the challenges it has posed to all sectors of the hospitality, travel and tourism industry, and to develop solutions to move it forward.
HFTP Offers New Digital Format for the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI), 11th Revised Edition
Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®) has just released a new format for the USALI, 11th revised edition: a digital version that is available through a subscription service. The popular guide is widely used internationally and its primary purpose is to offer operating statements formatted to provide hotel owners, managers and other interested parties with operational information pertinent to the lodging industry. The USALI was first published in 1926 and is currently in its 11th edition. The subscription will make it easy to access on multiple digital devices.
HFTP Introduces CYBER HITEC 2020, A Virtual Platform for the World’s Largest Hospitality Technology Event
Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®) has unveiled the details for its virtual CYBER HITEC. The 47-year Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC®) recently pivoted from an in-person to a virtual program, but still retains the full-breadth of features and expertise HITEC is known for. Stepping into the virtual event, a participant will encounter education planned and presented by industry insiders, virtual exhibit booths from top technology solution providers, and a variety of meet-ups and opportunities for one-on-one connections. CYBER HITEC will debut on October 27, providing three days of live programming at the beginning of its run and will remain available for on-demand access through November 25.
Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®) announced today that October's "Best of HFTP" in-person events will pivot to the virtual "Cyber HITEC." The in-person events, which included HITEC San Antonio, HFTP Annual Convention and Club Forum, were scheduled for October 26-29, 2020 in San Antonio, Texas, USA. In response to the continued health safety concerns and travel restrictions related to the current pandemic, the HFTP Global Board of Directors, has determined it is best to switch gears and concentrate efforts on a virtual program. It is making this decision well-ahead of time to allow participants, exhibitors, stakeholders and co-located event organizers to plan accordingly.
Best of HFTP to be First Hospitality Industry Conference Deploying Telemedicine to Support Attendees and Exhibitors

Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®) announced today that it will the first hospitality industry conference to deploy telemedicine to support attendees and exhibitors of its "Best of HFTP" conference October 26-29, 2020 in San Antonio, Texas USA. In response to the guidance for slowing the spread of Covid-19, HFTP restructured its 2020 event calendar co-locating HITEC San Antonio, HFTP Annual Convention, Club Forum and Entrepreneur 20X for one eventful week.
HFTP International Hospitality Technology Hall of Fame 2020 Inductees Announced: Michael Blake, CAE and Henri Roelings
Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®) is pleased to announce two champions of hospitality technology: Michael Blake, CAE and Henri Roelings as the 2020 HFTP International Hospitality Technology Hall of Fame inductees. Blake, CEO of Hospitality Technology Next Generation (HTNG), was recognized for his experience and leadership in promoting hospitality innovation and technology. Roelings, owner and CEO of HospitalityNet.org, was recognized for building a comprehensive digital platform for broad distribution of industry news and commentary. Both will be honored at the Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC®) in San Antonio, Texas USA on October 27, 2020.
