Upcoming 2021 HFTP Club Summit Addresses High Priority Topics; Strong Registration Demonstrates the Interest for Professional Engagement
Next month, Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®) is bringing back its Club Summit after a one-year hiatus. Relatively new to HFTP's slate of events (est. 2018), this conference has quickly become a key program for the association's club segment offerings. The Summit delivers a vital opportunity for high-level club professionals and industry experts to directly address the topics that are most compelling and important to this specialized segment of hospitality. Coming up this May 24-25 at the Bahia Mar Fort Lauderdale Beach – a Doubletree by Hilton Hotel in Fort Lauderdale, Florida; HFTP is seeing great interest in the event as attendance is nearing capacity.
Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®), producers of Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC®), is currently accepting applications for participants, judges and mentors for Entrepreneur 20X (E20X) at HITEC Dubai. Those who wish to participate in the Middle East version of E20X can apply online; start-ups should apply by 15 May and mentors and volunteers should apply by 20 May. E20X Dubai will take place at 15:30 on Tuesday, 1 June, 2021 at the Dubai World Trade Centre during HITEC Dubai. Both events will be co-located with The Hotel Show, produced by dmg events.

The movement toward high-tech solutions to engage guests and customers has greatly increased in the hospitality industry and has especially accelerated over the past year as hospitality enterprises implemented health safety protocols to address distancing guidelines. As a result, the implementation of property-wide technologies using personal identifiable information (PII) has presented a conundrum to hospitality organizations: how to safely manage this data — to use it for meaningful guest services, while also protecting it from malicious cyber activity.

The world is shifting into a recovery stage from the pandemic that has resulted in a loss of millions of lives and impacted many businesses. The emergence of several vaccines around the world is a critical tool to battle against COVID-19 . Currently, eight COVID-19 vaccines are finalized or in-progress according to the World Health Organization, including Pfizer-BioNTech, AstraZeneca-Oxford and Sinopharm, which are being administered to the people of certain countries . However, there are specific protocols to follow concerning eligibility to receive the vaccine. There are priority groups such as senior citizens, people with chronic diseases and determinations, and front-line workers. The priority is given to these groups as they are considered more at risk of infection than others .

HFTP Academy Debuts New Hospitality Benchmarking Certificate, In Collaboration with HotStats and Powered by Ascend
Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®) has introduced a new professional course from its HFTP Academy: the Hospitality Benchmarking Certificate, which demonstrates expertise in financial analysis and benchmarking. The course is a collaboration with the hotel benchmarking firm HotStats and will be supported by Ascend, a hospitality talent development company. The certificate is delivered as a comprehensive course available to all, with no previous experience required.
