Winners of Hospitality Student Webinar Competition Announced, Presented by the HFTP Foundation and the University of Houston
Capturing the Chinese tourism market is the topic of the winning webinar in a competition for graduate-level students completing a masters certificate at the Conrad N. Hilton College, University of Houston (UH). The competition was sponsored by the Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®) Foundation and held for students earning their HFTP-UH Global Masters Certificate, a program for candidates of the Master of Science in Global Hospitality Business, a partnership between the University of Houston, the School of Hotel and Tourism Management at Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne. The top webinar was titled "Top Strategies to Attract Outbound Chinese Travelers," and was produced by students Nieves Carbon, Yichun Fan, Yilei Sheng, Luc Espaillard.
Digital leadership speaker and author Erik Qualman will initiate a technology-focused week as the Opening Keynote speaker for the Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC®) in San Antonio, Texas USA. Qualman has performed in over 50 countries and reached 25 million people this decade. He will present his observations on digital trends and transformation to the 6,000 plus attendees expected at the 2020 event, which offers a high-quality education program and exhibition focusing on the latest in hospitality technology.

HITEC Europe 2020 Announces Digital Transformation Author Lindsay Herbert as Keynote, Alongside a Leading Educational Program
Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®), producers of Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition & Conference (HITEC®), has released its educational lineup for 2020 HITEC Europe, including a keynote presentation from Lindsay Herbert author of Digital Transformation. Produced in cooperation with Hospitality Technology Next Generation (HTNG), HITEC Europe is designed to bring together thought leaders, practitioners and vendors to cover hospitality technology trends and practices. HITEC Europe will take place from 21-23 April 2020 at the Palau de Congressos in Palma, Mallorca, Spain.
The Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®) Foundation has raised significant support in its first months to enact its initial goals for hospitality research and scholarship programs. In the time period between September through November 2019, the Foundation raised over $85K through a Founding Donors campaign. The Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP) Foundation is pleased to announce the addition of new research scholars Ana-Denisa Irimescu and Gustavo Miranda to the HFTP Middle East Research Center. To support the development of international partnerships in research in the hospitality industry, the HFTP Foundation funds a research scholarship program for two incoming MBA in Hospitality Management students at the Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management each year. The scholars are selected to take on the hybrid role of research scholars for HFTP and are given the opportunity to disseminate findings from their monthly research and final dissertations to the vast body of readers of HFTP's content platforms.
