Though industry trends may change, the joy that association networking and events can provide proves to always be worthwhile. You can take this week's Member Spotlight feature's word for it: meet Jennifer Hogencamp of Providence, Rhode Island who has been a member since 2012.
I have been working with hospitality companies for over 15 years in various disciplines, from providing financial statement work to advisory and consulting. I have always found the industry full of great people. I got my CHAE certification more than a decade ago and believe that it has set me apart from others when competing for work in the hospitality space.
I have been a member of HFTP for over a decade and have thoroughly enjoyed being a member of this great organization! Not only have I met some great people throughout the organization, but I've also made local industry friendships on both a personal and professional level.
The networking and educational aspects are second to none. I get to keep up with trends and hot topics, be in the "know" of what is happening in the industry and always look forward to our meetings. Annual Convention has always been a great way to get together with others from different locations to learn how to grow our membership in New England and create new offerings for the chapter!
Being a part of HFTP has broadened my industry visibility and provided networking and educational opportunities I would not have received anywhere else. The ability to leverage my network has been invaluable in my career. Being a board member and then president of the NE Hotel Chapter alongside my certification has given me a leg up when proposing new work. Thank you HFTP!
